A Presidential election has just taken place this week-end in Ecuador. However this photo publicizing one of the candidates was not taken in Quito or Guayaquil. I took it here in Madrid, Spain, in a street known for its Latin-American discos.
I've red this week-end that since the beginning of the millennium over 458,000 Ecuatoreans have moved to Spain, including over 100,000 who are entitled to vote in Ecuatorean elections.
Meanwhile, non-EU foreign residents cannot vote in Spanish municipal elections.
