When I organised during the Doha ministerial conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in November 2001 a visit of Pascal Lamy (who was then the EU Trade Commissioner) on board Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior (see photo), it confirmed in my mind that Lamy was a smart unconventional politician.
I see on the WTO website this week that Lamy is blogging during the Hong Kong WTO ministerial conference.
That's interesting, although -- knowing from experience how hectic these WTO ministerials are -- I find it hard to believe that he will find the time to post daily stories on an on-going basis.
If he manages, I'll say chapeau !
