The year of the deep

Another excellent story on the BBC website, on another report published by "Nature" sounding the alarm about the destruction of deepsea biodiversity.

In September 2005, France's "Le Monde" published a very good editorial piece titled "When will ecology mobilize politicians?".

2006 will be the year of the deep:

Deep trouble, if the United Nations continue to fail to act to protect high seas marine biodiversity, or

Deep hope, if at last the United Nations adopt a moratorium on high seas bottom trawling.
