Clean vision

Al Gore's latest speech setting a 100% renewable energy target for the US within 10 years is the kind of vision required to shake things up.

The analogy with JF Kennedy's 1961 let's go to the moon announcement is not exactly something new. The Apollo Alliance, for example, ran by US business, labor, environmental and community leaders has been in operation for four or five years.

But Gore's speech comes at the right time, when the US and the rest of the world are drifting and looking for ways to set a new course. [and a few weeks before the US Democratic Party Convention]
